SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL OPEN 2024 - BLITZ

Join us for a fun afternoon of blitz! The Singapore International Open 2024 Blitz tournament will be held after the prize presentation of the SIO and is open for entry to all players. 


Format: 9 rounds, 3+2 time control with top 8 qualifying for knockout playoffs.

Venue: Resorts World Sentosa Convention Centre
(same venue as Singapore International Open 2024)

 
Entry Fee: S$50 (free for GMs, WGMs, IMs and WIMs)

Determination of winners:

The final ranking order of the players is determined by the number of points scored.

In case of a tie, the following tie-break system shall be used: 

  1. Direct encounter 
  2. Buchholz Cut 1 
  3. Buchholz 
  4. Sonnenborn Berger
  5. Cumulative system – Sum of Progressive Scores (Sum of Progressive Scores: After each round a player has a certain tournament score. These scores are added to determine the total Sum of Progressive Score)

Only the top 8 will advance to the Quarter Finals.
